Multiple people involved in crash on Parramatta Rd at Five Dock in Sydney’s inner west

At least nine people are being assessed by paramedics following a multi-vehicle crash on a major road in Sydney’s inner west.

It is believed eight vehicles, including a truck, were involved in the crash, at Parramatta Rd and Great North Rd in Five Dock.

The vehicles crashed about 4.30pm on Friday. Multiple NSW Ambulance crews are on scene.

Two people involved in the crash were initially trapped in their vehicle.

A man and woman are in a serious condition and have been taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

Four patients were transported in a stable condition to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Westmead Hospital and St Vincent’s Hospital.

The driver of the truck, a man in his 40s, was uninjured and is assisting with inquiries.

All lanes of Parramatta Rd are closed between Harris Rd at Five Dock, and Frederick St at Ashfield.

Great North Rd is also closed between Queens Rd and Parramatta Rd.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
