Adelaide driver ‘shot with gel blaster through window’ as teen charged


A 17-year-old boy has been charged after a gel blaster was allegedly shot in a road rage incident in Adelaide’s north.

A driver and a passenger were travelling along Port Wakefield Rd in Cavan at 7.50pm on Thursday when the confrontation started with two others in a Ford Falcon, South Australia Police said.

“The passenger in the Ford, who was wearing a balaclava, allegedly pointed a firearm out of the window and discharged a shot,” police said.

The alleged victims were not physically injured and reported the incident to police.

Police arrested and charged a 17-year-old from Hectorville at 2am on Friday, and seized a handgun-style gel blaster firearm.

He was refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Youth Court on Friday, January 19.
