Search for missing hiker Jack in Halls Gap, Victoria


An urgent search is underway for a missing hiker in the Grampians region of Victoria.

Jack, 20, went on a solo hike in Halls Gap on January 3.

He video-called his family when he had reached the top of the Pinnacle Point walking track, a popular tourist track, at 7.15pm.

He has not been seen since and his family are unable to contact him.

His vehicle has been located at Schools Rd.

Police and his family are concerned about Jack, who lives with autism.

They said he is also not properly equipped for the changing weather conditions.

Local police units, the Air Wing and SES volunteers are searching the area.

Jack is about 175cm tall, has a slim build and brown hair.

He was last seen wearing blue shorts, a black, grey and white T-shirt, black runners and a brown Akubra-style hat.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Ararat Police Station.
