South Australian man wins Saturday Lotto after decision to buy ticket while at Bunnings
A South Australian man’s lightbulb moment at a Bunnings store has left him $2.3 million richer.
The man from the Adelaide suburb of Woodcroft managed to pull off the dream beginning to 2024 after buying a ticket in the December 30 Saturday Lotto X draw.
The man said his decision to buy a ticket had been a “spur of the moment thing” during a trip to Bunnings.

“I was at Bunnings yesterday, and I just thought I’d go into the $30 million draw, so I went and got a ticket,” he explained.
He held one of 13 division one winning entries in draw 4429, pocketing $2,307,692.31.
“It was a bit of good news just before 2024 starts,” the man said with some understatement.
The lucky winner received a call from an official from The Lott the next day, making for a New Year’s Eve to remember.
“I got on the computer this morning and checked my ticket and couldn’t believe it,” he said.
“It’s pretty surreal.
“I’m trying to stay cool, calm and collected. I don’t think it’s fully sunk in yet.
“I’ll have to spend the next week or so just thinking about how best to use it.
“I’ll probably put it into shares and investments and see what happens from there.
“I might even buy a new car!
“What a way to finish the year.”
The man’s winning 50-game QuickPick was purchased at Pimpala Newsagency & Gifts at Woodcroft Plaza.
The winning numbers
The winning numbers in the Saturday X Lotto draw 4429 on 30 December 2023 were 39, 38, 3, 2, 11 and 23, while the supplementary numbers were 22 and 35.
Across Australia, there were 13 division one winning entries.
There were four each in New South Wales and Victoria, two in Western Australia and one each in Queensland, South Australia and the Northern Territory.
