Nick Carter is ‘completely heartbroken’ by death of sister, Bobbie Jean

Backstreet Boy Nick Carter has opened up about the death of his sister Bobbie Jean on December 23, 2023.

Bobbie Jean, 41, died just a year after younger brother Aaron Carter passed away in November 2022, aged 34.

Back in 2012, another Carter sibling, Leslie, died at 25.

In a New Year message on Instagram, Nick shared a sweet childhood photo of himself with his younger sister, often known as BJ, holding hands and smiling for the camera.

“It may take a lifetime to fully process the loss my family has endured over the years — most recently, with the sudden passing of our sister Bobbie Jean,” Nick penned.

“I am completely heartbroken.

“Thank you for all your love and kind words. We are reminded again that life is precious, fleeting and to cherish the time we have with the ones we love.”

He ended the tribute by saying, “I know she is finally at peace with God. I love you BJ.”

On December 23, Bobbie Jean’s mother, Jane, confirmed her death saying: “I am in shock from learning of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean; and I will need time to process the terrible reality of this happening for the third time.”

Jane continued: “However deeply a parent feels the loss of a child, the suffering of a young child at the loss of a parent must be much greater.

“So, I would ask the sympathetic to say a prayer for my precious eight-year-old granddaughter Bella, who previously lost her father and is now also left without her mother.”

Bobbie Jean appeared in eight episodes of the family’s E! reality television series, House of Carters, in 2006.

Last June, she was arrested in Florida for allegedly stealing stickers from a store.

She was later allegedly found to be carrying drugs.

Just weeks ago, father-of-three Nick revealed he was finding it difficult to come to terms with brother Aaron’s death.

He told E! News, “It’s still unbelievable to me.

“I’m still processing the whole situation and trying to make sense of it — because it hasn’t.

“But I’m hoping that one day I can make sense of it all.”
