Teenage boy hospitalised after Kilburn shooting ‘not believed to be a random attack’


A teenage boy was shot in Adelaide’s northern suburbs just after 2.10am on Wednesday.

The boy was found at a Kilburn address with a gunshot wound on his leg and was taken to hospital.

SA Police were called to Nelson St following reports of gunshots in the area.

“On arrival, police located the victim with a single gunshot wound to his leg,” SA Police.

“Police located a number of gunshot holes at the address.”

The boy, whose exact age remains unclear, was treated by paramedics for non-life threatening injuries at the scene before he was taken to hospital, and will continue to speak to police on Wednesday.

“The incident is not believed to be a random attack,” SA Police said.

A burnt-out car was found just several streets away from the scene, but police are still working to determine whether the two incidents are connected, 7NEWS understands

Investigations are ongoing.
