Two inmates charged with murder of Anuisha Bone after Rockhampton man found dead on road

Two men have been charged with the murder of a man found dead on a Central Queensland road with a gunshot wound to his neck.

Two inmates of Capricornia Correctional Centre have been accused of shooting dead 34-year-old Rockhampton man Anuisha Bone, whose body was found in Norman Gardens on November 17.

The men, aged 33 and 26, had been in the correctional centre since late November, on matters unrelated to the death of Bone.

The men are believed to have been known to Bone, but a motive for his alleged murder has not been provided.

“No direct witnesses” spoke to police but members of the public have “come forward with information assisting us”, Superintendent Darrin Shadlow said on Wednesday.

“The investigation itself was a difficult one,” Shadlow said.

“We have spoken to a large number of members of the public. We are still seeking other people who will have information in relation to this.

“I think it’s proof, today, that investigators will not give up on this matter, and we haven’t given up on the matter.

“It has been a very difficult investigation, although we have got through that and provided enough evidence to charge these two with murder.”

The accused men are due to appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Bone’s family has been informed of the charges.
